Welcome to Pete's Pierside Cafe & Fish Market

At Pete's Pierside Cafe & Fish Market you will experience 360 degree views of the majestic Pacific Ocean and Port San Luis Harbor. We are located on the historic Harford pier just down the road from Avila Beach and halfway between Pismo Beach and Morro Bay. From our patio you will experience amazing views, watch fishermen bring in their fresh catches, see various marine life play, soak up the sun and relax as the sail boats rock in the swell all while enjoying some of the freshest seafood on the Central Coast.

Our original recipes were born from Pete Kelley’s travels through Central and South America and the restaurant was born from a love of cooking and entertaining friends and locals. After 30+ years and two moves (because of the Avila oil spill), we are right back in our home town of Avila and believe we have the perfect combination of fresh food and breath taking views for a classic California experience. Our year-round menu is filled with local favorites and we also have a daily specials menu that focuses on using the fresh local catches that come through our fish market.

Love to cook? You can buy all the fresh fish we serve in our restaurant right out of our fish market in the back. Since Port San Luis Harbor is a working fishing port, you will more than likely see fishermen bring some of their catch right into our market using pier hoist. Make sure to check out our live crab tanks. You can take some home with you or we will cook it for you so you can enjoy it in our restaurant.
